The Sixth & I Historic Synagogue was built in 1908 and went from being a conservative synagogue to almost becoming a nightclub in 2002. Even though Sixth & I is one of the oldest synagogues in the city, it host religious services for different Jewish denominations as well as lectures, and concerts. Sixth & I has been recognized by Newsweek and Slingshot for their work in the Jewish community.
