DORIAN PAIC:
For historians, there are only few better biographies than that of Dorian Paic to illustrate the Techno and House history of Frankfurt: the jet set disco Dorian Gray, a place called Music Hall, Sven Väth’s legendary Omen, the cult club XS or the younger high altars like the Monza or the Robert Johnson in Offenbach – Paic has been involved in one or another way. His mind had been inflamed already years ago. For the intensityand ecstasy that couldbe found in the clubs in the early years. For the strange mixture of people from all social levels and ways of life and for the taste of the smoke coming from thefog machines. And, of course, for the music. The nineties went by in a blur and Paic did not only become an authority of the downtown hot spot Monza, he also influenced the sound of his city in front of and behind the counter of the record shop institution
Freebase. Ricardo Villalobos had Dorian support him on his highly acclaimed “Fabric Mix”, Sven Väth chooses him as his preferred opening DJ at the Love Family Park and also in Ibiza, he is a welcome guest at the Cocoon parties.
Laurels all around. But this is no coincidence. Experts don’t appear out of the blue. This can also be seen in Dorian’s work at his label “raum…musik”. Being both the A&R and one of the releasing artists there, he proves that you can also form a great artist roster with convincing releases apart from major/indie mindsets. And if he’s not spinning somewhere between Berlin and Brasil, Dorian belongs to the regular Robert Johnson cast, curating the recurring Freebase parties there, together with Meat, and, with all kinds of musical activities, makes sure that the Maine river is not drying out.

MAAYAN NIDAM:
Maayan Nidam, an artist in flux, continues to change, evolve and challenge boundaries both in her Berlin studio and on stage. She has built a reputation as a fine DJ and producer who favours a subtle approach towards mesmeric moments.
Her DJ sets, predominantly based in stripped-back, deep sounds, utilise an intriguing vinyl collection, using obscure interludes for re-contextualisation. This approach makes for some magical moments on the dance-floor, where a night’s highlight may come from the most unlikely of tracks.
As a musician obsessed about sound and the technology behind its creation, her workflow places a strong focus on the studio environment. Triggering chain reactions between guitar pedals, drum machines, modular synths and acoustic instruments, generating sounds in unpredictable, exciting ways.
Inspired by her 2014 performances as The Waves with an accompanying band, Maayan has developed a solo live set that allows her to further her studio experiments and take them on the road. With a flexibly evolving range of hardware, she re-creates the spontaneous frame of her productions, delving deep into the possibilities of live dubbing and improvisation, keeping the performance exciting for both the crowd and Maayan herself.
