Join us for this week’s Ask an Expert on Facebook Live at a special time: 1:30 pm.
The Smithsonian has been monitoring the Sun for over one hundred years, from the National Mall in Washington, DC, from mountain stations around the world, from high-altitude balloons, and finally from space. We display many of the devices the Smithsonian built and used in the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center’s James S. McDonnell Space Hangar. In this week’s Ask an Expert Live curator David DeVorkin will examine some of them and talk about how they worked on the ground, in the stratosphere, and in space.
Tune in on Facebook Live.
