Working Order Records Presents: A Benefit for House of Ruth
Helping Survivors of Domestic Abuse and Homelessness

Xeno & Oaklander, Technophobia, Void Vision & Ships In The Night

Hey folks, we are super excited to announce this show! Katie and I (of Technophobia) have been working on this for a while now. We wanted to do a special DC show as a follow up to our US tour. We have put together this siiiick lineup, as is a thank you for all of the support we have received over the years and in appreciation of all of our friends old and new!

Keeping with our ethos, this show will be a benefit for the Washington, DC based charity House of Ruth though our nonprofit record label Working Order Records. HOR helps survivors of domestic abuse and homelessness in the Washington, DC area. 100% of the proceeds raised from this show will go to fund their Kidspace program (see more info below). We are honored to be playing with these incredibly talented female fronted electronic bands for this amazing charity! You will want to come early and stay late…THIS WILL RULE!

The Facebook event page only allows us to invite a limited number of friends so feel free to invite all of yours. Let’s make a difference!

HOUSE OF RUTH: For the past 41 years, House of Ruth has been a Washington, D.C.-based 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that helps women, children and families in the greatest need and with very limited resources build safe, stable and independent lives. The goal for each woman and family is to provide them with the confidence and skills that eliminate domestic violence and homelessness from their lives and prepares them for long-term independence.

KIDSPACE was established in 1990 to help provide the critical early-childhood learning and development services House of Ruth clients and homeless children need. Kidspace provides so much more than daily childcare. Homeless children entering Kidspace trend towards developmental delays, usually across multiple developmental domains. About one-third of the children have permanent special needs. Despite this fact, many of Kidspace’s children have been deemed “not delayed enough” to receive publicly funded services. Kidspace’s staff of educators and therapists serve as advocates for each child, assessing needs and proactively providing speech, occupational and play therapy. Kidspace offers its students a learning environment they would not otherwise have access to and the therapies they need to prevent more debilitating delays later in life. Even more importantly, Kidspace prepares children to be ready to learn and succeed in school.
