About BOAT BURNING
“Victory by overtone, glory by sound”
https://www.facebook.com/boatburning
http://www.boatburning.com

DC experimental music collective BOAT BURNING plays “maximal minmalism,”” an intricate hybrid of composition and improvisation for electric guitars where elemental passages performed on a profusion of instruments — sometimes 100 or more — produce shimmering towers of densely-stacked harmonics. The result is powerful, evocative music that combines the widescreen, panoramic sweep of classical with the sheer physical thrall of punk.

Led by founder / guitarist Andras Fekete, Boat Burning’s core ensemble includes guitarists Norm Veenstra (TONE) and Geordie Grindle (The Teen Idles); Jonathan Matis ( DC Improvisers Collective (DCIC)) and Robin Diamond on guitar and keys; and Mark Sherman on drums and percussion.

Boat Burning’s debut ep, produced by Mission of Burma’s Roger Miller and recorded at Inner Ear Studios by legendary Dischord Records engineer Don Zientara, will be released December 2017.

About TRINARY SYSTEM

“Mission of Burma’s Roger Miller strikes again. Cool lurching art rocker… With Trinary System, Roger created a group where anything goes. A lot of the MOB earmarks are there but he’s opened the door to a much wider sound…” BOSTON GROUPIE NEWS

Miller’s primary motive for forming Trinary System was to free his guitar playing from a post-punk environment. The band started with songs he wrote that didn’t make sense for Mission of Burma. Delving deeper into the full history of rock viewed hazily through his surrealistic/psychedelic nature, with perhaps a bit of funk pelting the proceedings from the wings, Miller is opening things up.

The trio features drummer/percussionist Larry Dersch, from Miller’s keyboard/drums project The Binary System, and bassist Andrew Willis, the former guitarist for The Web.

Trinary System released its ep debut “Amplify The Amplifiers” in 2016. Their new album will be released in early 2018.
