Dream Hoarders: The Upper Middle Class v. Everyone Else

A conversation with Richard Reeves and David Brooks

In America, the top 1% are most often considered the villains while everyone else, the 99%, are the good guys. In Dream Hoarders, The Brookings Institution senior fellow disagrees, arguing that the real class divide is between the upper middle class, who practice “opportunity hoarding,” and everyone else who falls below that economic and social divide

Reeves is the co-director of the Center on Children and Families at the Brookings Institution. His research focuses on social mobility, inequality, and family change. In conversation with David Brooks, an Op-Ed columnist for The New York Times and the author of Bobos in Paradise, On Paradise Drive, and The Social Animal. Book signing to follow.
