Geoff Gallante (Trumpet)

“the most amazing young talent I have ever seen in all my years in the business”
—Jerry McKenzie, former Stan Kenton drummer

“his command of the instrument, and of the jazz vocabulary, are truly astonishing…an amazingly gifted youngster.”
—Dan Morgenstern, esteemed jazz scholar/author/critic

“Jazz is in good hands”.
—John Faddis, iconic jazz trumpeter

One of the most celebrated young musicians in the world today, Geoff found his older brother’s trumpet at age four and has since performed on prominent stages and alongside distinguished artists all across the country– as acclaimed soloist with concert band, brass band and pops orchestra, as featured jazz performer and national anthem performer and as church soloist.
Geoff has performed in 34 states nationwide– including five different ensembles of the U.S. Military! By the age of six he had already garnered guest soloist engagements with the likes of the the Louisville Orchestra and Duke Ellington Orchestra and Philadelphia Brass Quintet. As anthem performer Geoff has appeared in 16 pro-sports venues across the country–7 Major League Baseball stadiums, 8 NBA arenas and 1 NHL arena! He’s the youngest instrumentalist, at six years old, to ever perform at the White House or at the prestigious Kennedy Center in D.C.

In the jazz realm, Geoff is comfortable playing all styles, from traditional New Orleans style to small group straight-ahead jazz to classic big band and swing. As a ‘traditional’ jazz player he’s a member of the D.C. based award-winning CAPITOL FOCUS JAZZ BAND and as a big band trumpeter played five years in the BLUES ALLEY YOUTH JAZZ ORCHESTRA. The former is geared to college age musicians, the latter to high-school musicians. Geoff’s marvelous talent obviously trumped the age requirements in both cases—both made exceptions for Geoff and welcomed him in at just 9 yrs old!
As straight-ahead jazz performer, Geoff has shared the stage with such jazz icons as Maynard Ferguson, Dick Hyman and Bucky Pizzarelli, as well as a host of other distinguished jazz musicians including Earl Klugh, Kevin Mahogany, Cyrus Chestnut, Harry Allen, James Carter, Warren Vache, Allen Vache, Chris Botti, Christian McBride, Etienne Charles, Claudio Roditi, John Clayton, James Morrison, Larry Fuller, Ken Peplowski, Joe LaBarbera and John Faddis and Dave Leibman.
