If the members of the Breakfast Club were musical phenoms who got into a case of Manic Panic one day after school and formed a band, they would look and sound a lot like Los Angeles-based Hey Violet. With front-woman Rena Lovelis, her sister Nia on drums, lead guitarist Casey Moreta, and Miranda Miller on keys, the group has been playing together for several years and making music individually since they were old enough to ask for lessons.
Hey Violet was the first signing to 5 Seconds of Summer’s label Hi Or Hey Records and toured globally opening for 5SOS during 2015 and summer of 2016, performing to crowds of up to thirty thousand each night across the U.S., Canada and Europe.
With a loyal and passionate fanbase built through non-stop touring, their debut EP I Can Feel It (2015) went to No. 1 on iTunes in five countries, including the U.K., and Top 5 in 10 other countries.
Hey Violet most recently revealed their bold, new, synth-driven sound with the release of Brand New Moves, which debuted as the No. 1 artist album on iTunes in the U.S., U.K., and Canada. “We mixed the tracks a bit ’80s style with more synths and drums that sound really fat and big with a groove” says lead singer Rena Lovelis.
Hey Violet recently won the 2016 Teen Choice Award for “Next Big Thing” and have been touted as ‘most anticipated’ and ‘artist to watch’ by publications Alternative Press, Teen Vogue, Kerrang, and more.
The band is currently supporting their single ‘Guys My Age’ with a debut album release in 2017.
