Mikey Pennington, best known by his artist name Jackal, is a 23-year-old music producer and DJ. Originally from England, Jackal started producing music while attending the University of Canterbury. Jackal has always been musically inclined, learning to play guitar, drums and making beats on his keyboard at the age of seven. Since the release of his trap hit “Shakedown,” Jackal’s presence in electronic dance music—especially electro-house and trap— has quickly grown, with his beats often showing up in the sets of heavyweight artists from Skrillex to Diplo.
