Jacques Greene w/ Suicideyear at Flash (Washington, D.C.) 21+

Nu Androids and Flash presents:

Jacques Greene (CA | LuckyMe)

TW: https://twitter.com/jacquesgreene

In less than three years, this enigmatic young house producer from Montreal has given the current musical landscape progressively deeper ideas of what house music can mean in the new decade. Beyond the sparkling original releases, eps and remixes, this young producer & songwriter has collaborated across various styles from Jimmy Edgar, to Tinashe, to The XX, to Radiohead.

In a culture of new artists competing for digital real estate Greene anchored his career in the physical: He toured. Playing top European venues such as Fabric Live, Plastic People, Panoramabar and major festivals like Sonar, MUTEK, the Bloc Weekender and Bozar Electronic Weekender, he steadily conquered each crowd with his undeniably potent songs and infectious demeanor. With “Another Girl”, all the hype came to him. Tearing down the gate with two EPs on LuckyMe and Nightslugs, and nothing short of an anthem on the latter’s Allstar compilation, he grew as the best artists do. With quality releases and unforgettable live shows.

As Suicideyear, James Prudhomme produces widescreen emotional landscapes of abstraction, underscored by sonorous concave bass and starry hi-hat showers. Aside from his solo releases, he has been credited with productions for the likes of Yung Lean, Rome Furtune, Main Attrakionz, Ethelwulf, Pepperboy, Little Pain, and Antwon, and was recently touted as: “arguably the year’s most influential producer without a major label placement” by Fader Magazine. Both as producer and DJ, Prudhomme stands out for his remarkable convergence of trap beats and mid-late century American minimalism as well as his intimate and fresh tastes.

Nick Garcia

DC based producer and composer Nick Garcia creates left-field house music that often hints at classic electro and experimental/glitch music. His love affair with synthesizers and samplers has yielded records that have landed on labels like Edmonton deep house imprint Night Vision and Boston’s bass music outfit Lifted Contingency. In 2017, Nick released his Fenix EP on Night Vision, which received support from Pillowtalk, Joyce Muniz, and more, and went top 20 on Beatport. Aside from his work as a solo artist, Nick is well known as a post production engineer and composer, most recently having co-composed the theme music to NPR’s 1A with Will Eastman.
