Underground System and Dr. Badlove and the Remedies

Mutliflora Productions will host its first annual DiY multicultural music festival for the whole month of October in multiple venues across Washington, DC. Kicking it off with one of the greatest Afro-beat groups on the planet! The glorious grab bag of internationally-grown members of Underground System (who take their name from a Fela Kuti song) reads like a roll call of musical and cultural diversity. Conceived in Brooklyn, this unstoppable female-fronted corps of neo-afrobeat-deconstructionists has cultivated a sound as inimitable as its members. Hinged on a tight, seamlessly executed stage show, this group astonishes wherever they go, compelling crowds to dance with unbridled vim.

Opening the show are very special guests Dr. Badlove and the Remedies who blend deep funk, hip-hop, dancehall classics and go-go beats with live vocals, smooth electric guitar, bass, synthesizer riffs, and infectious digital drumming.
