KENNY GLASGOW:

Kenny Glasgow is a North American electronic music pioneer, a role he’s held for over two decades. Though the Canadian star has spent the last 5 years as the half of the acclaimed duo Art Department, functioning as a musical engineer, composer of both music and lyrics, and vocalist, he is now returning to his solo roots. Before he started touring the world, releasing influential full lengths, headlining major festivals and gracing the cover of taste making magazines with Jonny White, Kenny Glasgow already had a cult and loyal following dating back to the early nineties! The jewel in his solo crown to date is ‘A Taste of the Low Life’, a stunning debut solo LP that was a dark and gritty fusion of electronic styles on No.19 Music, and fans will be delighted to know a follow-up is the works on the same label. Aside from this standout highlight, he also released a number of perfectly formed EPs on labels like Jinx, Roger Sanchez’s Narcotic and Family Recordings and came correct as part of Method Men and Unabomber with musical partner Mario J, racking up remixes for the likes of Strictly Rhythm and Azuli.

Now he is back focusing on his solo career again and has plenty lined up for 2015.Glasgow first became immersed in the scene as a promoter, putting on illicit warehouse parties in his native Toronto before progressing to become resident at acid house mecca The Buzz and later the world famous Industry Nightclub. It was there that he picked up a sense of what worked dance floors, both in terms of DJing and production. Always putting these lessons to great use whether solo or with Art Department, his own emotive, tortured sounding and unique gravelly vocals have very much become his trademark. Like the entirety of Kenny Glasgow’s career, this next solo chapter is to take him to the finest clubs and festivals around the world armed with a knowing and considered bag of music that will be put together in the sort of compelling ways only an artist of his standing can.

JADE (CA)

Although her love of music started at a young age, it was acts like Kruder & Dorfmeister, Thievery Corporation and Massive Attack that really encouraged her to explore the world of sound and melody. Her introduction to DJing came back in 2008 when a friend and mentor, DJ/producer Jonny White (Art Department) , invited her to play at a party for his now infamous label, no.19. Jonny White, having spotted Jade’s musical potential, took her under his wing, guiding her through her exploration of and experimentation with electronic music from the very beginning.

Jade’s potential, combined with hard work and a desire to evolve her talent, led her out from behind the decks and into the studio; there, she created a sound that was sexy, organic and all her own. Deep, dark, fat bass lines accompanied by solid hi hat patterns became part of a signature sound that she finally shared with the world in 2012 when she released her first record “Try Again” – Jade (Canada) on none other than electronic label, no.19.

BARBARA PREISINGER

Barbara Preisinger first began dj-ing in 1996 in her hometown of Munich and was soon playing regularly at the green flokati room of the “ultraschall” club. in the Summer of 1998 Barbara left Munich for Berlin, where she started working as a freelance press and radio promoter for electronic music. In the years that followed she represented various labels and acts from the experimental music scene, ranging from straight clubsounds to electronic pop and indie-electronia.1999 saw her co-found the label ˜scape, together with Stefan Betke aka Pole, creating an open platform for the productions of Kit Clayton, Jan Jelinek, Deadbeat, Pole amongst many others. Before long she was a resident dj at regular scape nights in berlin and other locations within europe, japan and also further afield in north america. Her passion is to play for the dancefloor, mixing kicking house and deep techno all the while remaining open towards interesting and outstanding tunes that makes you move. And she has been doing exactly that at many prestigious location around the globe in recent years, including festivals as Sonar, Benicassim, DEMF, Club Transmediale Berlin, Mutek, Mutek Chile, SOCO Monteviedeo, Unsound Festival New York and Poland, Todays Art …..to mention but a few.Autumn 2009 Barbara Preisinger launched the 12inch vinyl label SLICES OF LIFE where she is releasing music by friends and relatet artists like Betke, Mike Huckaby, The Mole, Baaz, John Tejada…..
