Smithsonian Holiday Festival

Join us at the National Museum of American History on December 2-3 and celebrate the holiday season in Smithsonian style!

*HOLIDAY FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS*

SOUNDS OF FAITH: SONGS OF HANUKKAH
Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
Local singer Arianne Brown and her band will perform traditional Hanukkah songs and share stories about the origins and traditions of the holiday. Enjoy their performance and try your hand at designing your own dreidel at the make-and-take craft table!

COOKING UP HISTORY: CARIBBEAN HOLIDAY TRADITIONS
Saturday at 1 p.m.
Celebrate the holidays and the 50th Anniversary of the Smithsonian Folklife Festival with a trip to the Caribbean with Jennifer Selman, chef/owner of Crown Bakery in Washington, DC as she shows us how to make festive fruitcake.

U.S. AIR FORCE BANDS PERFORMANCES: HOLIDAY MUSIC
Saturday and Sunday at 12, 1, and 2 p.m.
Enjoy fun holiday music performed by the U.S. Air Force’s Singing Sergeants and Airmen of Note three times a day over the weekend.

FROM BEAN TO BAR: CHOCOLATE DEMONSTRATIONS
Saturday and Sunday, all day
Explore the history of making chocolate with this interactive experience.
