Paris 1940, the German occupation is imminent. Among the citizens swirling through the chaotic City of Light are escapees from prison, a movie-star lover of an important government official, and a physicist and his assistant who have something to hide.
This delightful 2003 ensemble film featuring Isabelle Adjani and Gerard Depardieu includes German spies, the French Resistance, romance, and a corpse. Not to mention a shipment of heavy water—which the French desperately want to keep the Germans from using to produce nuclear weapons.
Along with the evening’s screening of Bon Voyage, enjoy popcorn and sparkling French soda almost as delicious as the characters’ chemistry in the film!
In French with English subtitles; screening at the Spy Museum. Cosponsored by the Alliance Française de Washington.
