The Grand Opening of 2 West

Join us for grand opening day to mark a truly special occasion!

On June 28, the National Museum of American History will open the newly renovated west wing of its second floor, featuring signature exhibitions and experiences celebrating “The Nation We Build Together.”

The day will be action-packed with free activities to celebrate this new wing. See below for more information about the new exhibitions and spaces as well as the schedule. No tickets are required, all are welcome!

ABOUT 2 WEST: THE NATION WE BUILD TOGETHER

Visit four exhibitions centered on the ideas and ideals of America – “American Democracy: A Great Leap of Faith;” “Many Voices, One Nation;” “Religion in Early America;” and newly updated “Within These Walls” – that provide an impactful look into the context of the country’s founding and its evolution to today.

In Unity Square, an open plaza space centrally located on this new floor, explore history and public engagement with hands-on activities and theater programs that include a spotlight on one of the Museum’s national treasures, the Greensboro Lunch Counter.
