ABOUT THE IRIS BELL:
The Iris Bell has crafted a distinctive style of Americana noted for its lush harmonies and soulful, acoustic rhythms. Playing at festivals and shows across the region, the band is both raucous and melodic, making music that goes from foot stomping to haunting. Switching instruments frequently, the five members of The Iris Bell use their range to bring a fresh sound to the world of indie folk. The band formed in 2013.
ABOUT ELENA & LOS FULANOS:
Elena & Los Fulanos is a bilingual folk rock band based in Washington, DC. Since 2011, they have been creating music that ranges from twangy, heartbreak-themed folk Americana, to soothing, introspective, violin-infused Latin rock. Influenced by front-woman Elena Lacayo’s experience growing up in two cultures (Nicaraguan and American), Elena & Los Fulanos creates a world where language and tradition meld with catchy melodies and inventive chords to enhance appreciation for diversity in an increasingly multi-cultural world. Their debut album, Miel Venenosa, earned a Washington Area Music Association (WAMMIE) nomination for Best Latin Recording in 2014 and they’re currently working on their second album to be released in late 2017!
ABOUT BOATY OTIS:
Boaty Otis is a DC-based swamp band, bringing together equal parts Eastern European brass, Cajun fiddle tunes, and dirty southern r&b. Playing loud honking tunes with dirty finger nail beats that make you want to boogie, Boaty Otis wants to help you live your best life. Get sweaty, get ready, get Boaty.
