Contemporary ballet company, Chamber Dance Project, will celebrate its fifth anniversary season at their annual gala, taking place on Saturday, March 3rd in Washington, D.C. This year’s theme is Fab5Bash, highlighting the company’s successful five years in the District of Columbia. The evening will feature a VIP reception with the artists and a preview of Chant costumes, signature cocktails, hors d’oeuvres buffet, a silent auction and a special live preview of the new ballet work Chant.
The company led by Artistic Director Diane Coburn Bruning, will give a performance preview of
Chant, a powerful work of live Gregorian chant creating a cathedral of sound, movement and light that envelops the audience. Choreographed by Diane Coburn Bruning and company dancer Andile Ndlovu, Chant will feature singers under the leadership of the National Cathedral Music Director, Michael McCarthy. Drawing on the majesty and emotional sweep of Gregorian chant, the work journeys from traditional chant to African-textured chant that builds into a contemporary overlay of string and voices. The world-premiere of Chant will debut June 21-23, 2018 at the Lansburgh Theatre.
